Diss U16s v Southwold U16s. Sunday 18th September

The first game of the season. Diss played host to Southwold a relatively new team for this season. Ideal rugby weather.
Firstly U16s unable to field a full team due to early injuries and unable to attend. They turned to U15s, that helped out and really stepped up to the mark. We thank them for this. Sam, Ryan, Matt, Joe, Seb, Aiden
Diss kicked off and were soon short of the the try line. Then were awarded a scrum five metres out, in front of the goal. The ball popped out and was quickly kicked forward for James to run in and touch down. An easy ball for Kyle to convert. Diss were getting lively passing the ball well,into the hands of U15s Ryan to run in dodge a couple of tackles and score a try in the corner. Kyle unable to convert.
A poor clearance boot out from Southwold into the hands of Diss, then the ball passed from the right wing through several pairs or hands, for Kyle on the left wing to run over the line to score. Again Kyle unable to convert.
Southwold were starting to feel their feet, putting Diss under pressure up to half time.
The second half continued with Southwold being beaten back, as U15s Sam ran in a try just off the posts. Ben stepped forward with a neat conversion.
Scrum five for Diss, again superb passes for Ben to take a try. Kyle converted.
The final try was to Diss, again the passing along the line to Kyle on the right wing to run in. Kyle then Converted.
Southwold played to the end. But Diss were to good. They played very well from every position, forwards and backs, using the whole of the field. A good game of rugby played in the very spirit of the game.
