Diss U16's 36 V 12 West Norfolk

After several weeks of no rugby due to the various storms Diss took to the pitch in a determined mood. It was only a few minutes into the game when Diss won the ball from a scrum and quickly passed through to Ben Waters at 12 to run in for the first score. Ben converted his try for 7-0
Stan Spurdens was having a very good game at 13 and when Diss put together move after move Stan made the incisive run to finish it off and score. Converted by Ben Waters for 14-0
West didn't give up at any stage and with the first half closing they scored for a respectable 14-7 score line at the break.
At the start of the second half Diss knew what they needed to do to finish off the moves they were playing with better effect. They are awarded a scrum on the West 22 metre line and quickly set of the backs again. Finlay Martin took the ball on at full pace and smashed his way through the West defence to score 19-7
The Diss forwards had been working hard but knew they needed more go forward and support. There followed a number of pick and drive moves expertly handled before releasing the ball to Bryce Cochrane at fly half to dive over the line. 24-7
West fought back and managed a try to reduce the deficit to 24-12
A high tackle by Diss gave West a penalty which they kicked to touch for the lineout. The ball was then sent through their back line but as the Diss defence came up Joe Jermy brilliantly intercepted their centres pass and headed for the try line. 31-5
Tom Parks-Lewis had made great supporting runs all game and when given the ball he set off on a jinking run through the West defence to score the last try of the game and make the final score 36-12
