Diss entertain League leaders Saffron Walden at Mackenders this Saturday. Diss have enjoyed two excellent away wins at Ipswich and Campion over the last two weeks and take on Saffron Walden with a growing confidence and desire to maintain the positive start to their League campaign. A large home support will be looking forward to viewing the new Kiwi element to the team. Sean McClure completed a superb debut last week, whilst scoring a hat-trick from Full back. Philip Levievre has cemented his position on the wing and gives the side genuine pace when on the front foot and a reliable kicking option. The remainder of the Three-quarters survives from last season with Jamie Burroughs and Jack Peacock adding guile and experience from the half back berth.
In the forwards, Prop, Charlie Crotty replaces the side lined Tim Groom and the ever present Michael Fuller returns to the back-row . Diss are yet again able to field a very strong pack of forwards that now boasts a vast amount of experience, determination and power. John Laurie had a fine game against Campion last Saturday and will yet again prove very difficult to stop from the base of the scrum. A mouth -watering prospect that two of the early League leaders should meet each other so soon into the season.
