Diss Under 15’s Another Fantanstic Team Performance!

Another training session, this time with local rivals and good friends Holt saw a full game played, but as Holt arrived only with 13 players Diss had to lend them 2 on a rotating basis.
Holt started very brightly and scored out wide as Diss suffered from their usual start of the match lethargy. Kick off at the restart saw Diss find a bit of vigour and ‘Ginger Ninja’ Joseph Hegarty soon scored the first of his traditional hat trick.
Hayden Watling was soon in for the next score,a searing run, beating 4 of the opposition allowed him to touch down between the posts. Hegarty scored 2 more and Oscar Seaman and Alex Warnes, followed by Seaman again also scored to put the match beyond doubt before half time.
The second half saw more of the same. Elliot Ghali scored a fantastic interception try between the posts and John Joe Smith marked his return from injury, with a very assured performance, which included outwitting the Holt defence to touch down a loose ball over their line after some very good work from the forwards. Seaman completed his hat trick with 2 minutes on the clock.
Holt with a little help from their Diss friends managed 5 tries of their own but the result was never going to be in doubt from early on.
Campbell Young converted 7 from 9 and Alex Leeder1 from 1.
Diss really excelled in all aspects of the game on this occasion. Passing was superb and the whole team can hold their heads up high.
A final score of 66-25 is perhaps harsh on Holt as they competed until the end and have some very capable players. The rub of the green went against them on a few occasions, however their behaviour and sportsmanship was exemplary. If only there were more local teams like them!
