Diss U15s v West Norfolk U15s

The morning started with presentation of new team shirts, kindly sponsored by Ryan poultry services. We thank them very much.

Last time the teams met was last seasons Norfolk Cup. Diss struggled for players, then ended loosing the game. This time Diss were able to field a full team with three subs. Strong play from both teams from the start, with the game swaying both ways.
Diss scored first as Tom Elkins received the ball from a series of passes to run it over the line. West Norfolk followed shortly after with a break through to even the score. Diss took the lead again as James Webster with a simple intercepted pass to run directly under the posts, with a conversion from George Jones. West Norfolk with their pack strength set up a maul then drove forward and over for their second try. 12 - 10 to Diss. West then scored from a break that couldn't be tackled down. 12 - 15. West with the final score as they set up another maul to push Diss back over the try line and touch down. Generally the game was played fairly even, West with their pack strength turning over the rucks and Diss left to fight hard to win the ball back, which quite often they did. Diss definitely a stronger team than last season produced good rugby in this tough, hard fought game. Back in the clubhouse Tom Elkins was awarded man of the match. A good game of rugby.
