Diss had a successful day and win the Tankard Trophy

Diss were entered into the B league of nine teams.
The first team they played was Colchester Robins. A tight game for the first game, pressure from Diss forced the Robins behind their 22m line. George Jones shew a dummy that opened a hole for him to run into to score the only try of the game. 5 - 0 to Diss.
Next Diss took on Pinner. A team with a solid set of boys. Diss suffered an early infringement, the ball was played one of their big lads that ran the wing un stopped to score a try. Diss were behind. But Diss didn't drop shoulders. The second half diss took the game to them. A ball passed out to Nat Strange to be ran into the corner for a try. Followed shortly from a try from James Webster, then to be converted by Ben Brown. With a final score 12 - 5 to Diss.
The next game was against Westcliff B. Diss continued to play as the last. Taking the ball wide and running. A try ran in from Tom Elkins. Frustration from from Westcliff led to a player receiving a yellow card for throwing punches. Nat Strange ran in another try, for George Jones to convert. The final score 12 - 0 to Diss.
Next came Newmarket. Diss defending well and attacking better with a try from Nat Strange. George Jones scored another. A big kick through from George, the ball bounced up awkwardly. But George followed up his kick to collect the ball and pop it over for a try. George then converted. Half time, 17 - 0 to Diss. Both Nat Strange and James Webster ran in another try each. Diss winning
27 - 0. Four wins from four. Diss coming second in the league to Sudbury on 51points. Diss 50, then Old Brentford 39.
Diss were entered into Goblet/Tankard semi finals against West Norfolk, old rivals. Diss scored first from Nat Strange, to be converted by Ben Brown. West Norfolk came back the way they like to play. Through the middle with their pack. They scored four tries and converted three. Diss could not beat them. 7 - 26 to West Norfolk. This was a tough game for Diss, they suffered injuries. A knock to the head, no further play and a tendon injury also out of action.
Diss went through to the Tankard final against Old Brentford. Both teams with knocks and tiredness. James Webster ran two tries in and Nat Strange one. Diss won 15 - 0.
Excellent play by Diss. Running, passing, defending, filling holes as they appeared with overlap.
A good ending for their fifteen aside games. Five wins from six. A vast improvement from last season. Onward and upward.
