Diss U15's 55 v 24 West Norfolk U15's

West Norfolk have an impressive set of forwards and like to dominate in the scrum and the ruck. The Diss pack knew they would have a tough day ahead of them and this was demonstrated when after 12 minutes the West pack continually rucked their way forward until scoring the first try. Diss responded quickly with a scrum on the West 22 providing the ball for Bryce Cochrane to kick over the heads of the approaching West backs, the ball was caught by Ben Waters who scored and converted. 7-7
West continued the play with the forwards and drove forward for another forwards try 7-12. With West keeping everything in the forwards Diss played the ball out wide into the hands of Dylan Smith on the wing who ran from his own 22 to score under the posts 14-12. Now it was time for the Diss pack to demonstrate their ability to pick and drive until releasing the ball through the backs. Ben Faulkner was charging around the pitch the whole game and he came into the line to take the ball at pace and score. This gave Diss the lead at 1/2 time of 19-12.
If West wanted to start the 2nd half strongly then they unfortunately kicked off into the hands of Drew Harris who sprinted through the West defence to score 24-12.
Diss were now dominant in the backs but also having the upper edge on the West forwards. The forwards were playing the phases and then passed out to Ben Waters to make a strong run and score 31-12
Two minutes later and Diss went through the same system again leading to Josh Hayhoe crashing forward and passing to Joe Jermy to take it on before passing to the supporting Fred Potter who scored. 38-12
West kicked off and Diss caught the ball and passed to Will Pennent to have a run on the wing. There was no stopping Will as he sped up and scored under the posts. Miles Clark converted. 45-12
Shortly after this score Fred Potter picked up the ball from loose play and kicked forward collecting the ball to score under the posts. 50-12
West never gave up and were the next to score 50-17
Play was between the 1/2 way line and the West 22 when Diss won a scrum and Miles Clark popped the ball to Joe Jermy running a strong line to score 55-17.
West weren't finished and with a typical strong drive by the forwards scored the last try.
55-24 was the final score
