A very capable Wymondham squad were too strong for Diss' depleted numbers in their first competitive 15-a-side outing of the season.
Missing a few key players did give others the chance to play in different positions but but they couldn't match the well-drilled performance of their hosts who combined their forward- and back-play with great effect.
What was pleasing was the spirit and determination of the Diss team to continue to make life difficult for their hosts and show their own prowess in stringing together several phases of attacking play as well as solid scrummaging and mauling too. Diss thoroughly deserved their tries, fittingly scored by their 2 stand-out players of the morning, Harry Williamson and Harvey Newton, although many others pushed them close for that accolade.
And although the final scoreline was emphatic for Wymondham, they graciously acknowledged the competitive battle they had been in throughout the match and were delighted with their deserved victory.
