Diss U14's ease through to represent Norfolk in the Eastern Counties Plate finals

When Diss played Wymondham at the start of the season it was a very close win for Diss so they wanted to continue their best ever season and demonstrate to our near neighbours what an improved side we are. The opening minutes showed the determination with which Diss now play and with only 90 seconds on the watch the ball was into the hands of Ben Waters who made a tremendous run, breaking the gain line and feeding to Joe Jermy to score his first try of the day. Ben then stepped up to convert 7-0
From the restart Wmondham started to apply pressure on the Diss defence. There was a short period of fairly even possession but with the play inside the Wymondham 22 and Diss with a line out the forwards drove the maul on a good 10 metres before releasing to the backs . Joe Jermy sprinted onto the pass from 10 metres out and went over to score his second. Ben converting again 14-0.
Diss backs were working their moves and the handling was impressive. When the backs got stopped it was Freddie Potter who picked up from the breakdown and crashed over to score. Ben converted 21-0
Shortly afterwards a now rampant Diss had a charge through mid field by Joe Jermy who gave the ball to Tom Parks to continue the run. This time when stopped it was the turn of Isaac Powell to pick up and score. The consistent Ben stepped up for conversion 4 from 4. 28-0
A change at scrum half meant Bryce Cochrane took to the field and carried on the impressive work of Miles Clark. Bryce made an incisive run, backed up by winger Drew Harris who then popped the ball back in field to Stanley Spurdens who at full flight scored near the corner. For once the conversion was missed and at half time Diss led 33-0.
Tom Parks was having another superb game on the wing and when the backs passed along the line without fault and into his hands he scored under the posts. Converted by Ben 40-0
In a repeat performance two minutes later Tom crossed over to score again. Unconverted 45-0
Wymondham never gave up and demonstrated great resolve throughout. They kicked for a lineout close to the Diss 10 meter and from the resultant broken play scored. 45-5
Wymondham were awarded a scrum shortly after the re-start close to the Diss 22 meter line and with an audible call of 'fish and chip' played a set move, the resultant 'chip' landed in the arms of Ben Waters who ran the remaining length of the pitch to score. Bryce Cochrane gave Ben a rest and slotted the conversion. 52-5
With time ebbing away in the heat of the late morning there was still time left for the ball to go quickly through the Diss Backs again and into the arms of Tom Parks who with blistering pace scored his hat trick try which Bryce converted for a final score of 59-5
