After a well earned break over half term the team turned out eager to play rugby and the weather and pitch were perfect for this game.
Cambridge turned out in force with a new coaching structure and a very efficient squad for this fixture, so we knew we had to up our game for this fixture.
The first half Diss were very sluggish and tried to over complicate things, Cambridge capitalised well and scored from the offset by intercepting the ball twice, their turnovers , ripping ball and wrapping up players was very efficient making Diss having to work hard for every ball.
Diss were 17 / 10 down at half time. After some encouraging words from coaches and captains the team came out in the second half knowing they were capable of playing better rugby and that is exactly what they did, Down to 14 men Diss scored and converted the next try evening up the score.
After that it was all Diss scoring try after try and had a couple disallowed ,Diss played a great defensive game and capitalised on every opportunity.
It was a hard won win over a greatly improved Cambridge side.
