Diss U16s at Norfolk 10s festival Sunday 25th September

The team worked and hard to get five wins from seven.
Diss traveled to North Walsham today. With good weather for great rugby. Eight teams were up for the challenge.
Two from Holt, two from West Norfolk, Norwich, North Walsham, Lowestoft and Yarmouth, Diss.
The games were played hard, fierce and full on. Fifteen minutes one way.
First to play Diss were Norwich, a team usually an equal. Diss took the game to Norwich, running seven tries past them. First from Nat, Ben scored two, brothers James and John one each, and George with two. Norwich came back with two tries towards the end of the game. Final score 7 tries to 2.
Next was against the first of Holts team. A stronger team that tested the boys. Nat scored first running onto a kicked through ball. A burst through the defences by Fred to score. Diss won 2 tries to 0.
Next up were the first of West Norfolk teams, always a tuff team. The perseverance of Diss. The only try of the game from Tom E, just before final whistle to win.
Diss v North Walsham, a team they've not played for two seasons. Another tough game. Walsham scored two early tries. Then Diss fighting back as Nat took a try from the right wing. Walsham with a forward drive to the line for a touch down, a dubious decision called try. Others thought the ball was spilled forward. But Diss did press forward claim another try. This one from James.
Final score Diss lost 2 tries to 3.
Diss were up against Holts other team. Diss just as keen for a win. A run in try for Tom E. George on the end of passes for another try. Holt scored from the wing. Fred finished with a try brought from a free kick. Diss 3 tries to Holt 1.
The Sixth game was against West Norfolks second team. West scored the first two tries. Diss pulled one back as Kyle ran in on the wing for a try. But West got two further tries to complete their win. Diss 1 try to wests 4.
Diss battled on. The final game against Lowestoft and Yarmouth. Four tries were scored by Diss. First from Nat, then James and John got one each, leaving Tom E to get the last try of the day. Lowestoft and Yarmouth with no score. Diss win 4 tries to 0.
The day was a good measure for Diss out on this seasons playing fields. They can take on most teams and give them a good game.
