Sunday 9th October Diss U16 at Brentwood Golden Boot Festival

An early start for the team with a 10.00am kick off. Unfortunately Diss were only able to take fourteen players from their already shortened squad but were kindly loaned a player to top up the team. There were sixteen teams to play in pools of four teams.
Diss played Maldon for the first match. Kicked off, then driving forward kept the pressure on. Diss were awarded a scrum, the ball was offloaded and played right, then went back to middle for Nat to run in then he offloaded to Ben to touch down for a try, George kicked out off hand for a conversion. Maldon then settled turned the game around scoring two tries and conversions bringing the final score Diss 7 Maldon 14.
Diss then played Eton Manor a close game but were beaten by one converted try. A full attack from Diss at the end of the game, but were muscled back just falling short of trying.

Diss final game was against their hosts Brentwood, a tougher team. Diss had their moments of attacks and breakthroughs but couldn't put enough together to score. Brentwood scored three converted tries. Diss 0 Brentwood 21.
As it turned out Brentwood were the tournament winners.
