A return to League action following last week’s narrow Intermediate cup defeat at the hands of Hertfordshire side Fullerians allows Diss the opportunity of returning to winning ways, thus putting to bed the inconsistencies and lack of endeavour exhibited since the New Year. There were certainly more positives taken from last week’s match against Fullerians, unlike the previous week when defeat at the hands of a far more determined and inspired Norwich side proved totally unacceptable.
Coaches Roger Coombs and David Smith select a stronger side this week to face Rochford Hundred. A fixture that will see the home side seeking revenge for a defeat in late November, that for all intense and purposes began to highlight the weaknesses and inadequacies within the Diss squad. Key players Michael Fuller and Jamie Burroughs return to the back row and scrum half berth respectively with Kimi Latu moving across to number eight. Phillip LeLievre moves to the wing to strengthen the back three allowing Jack Peacock the opportunity of spreading the ball wide when attacking options manifest themselves. The return of Charlie Crotty to the front row allows Tim Groom the opportunity to be used more as an impact player this week. Last week’s form players, Jo Brock and Jon Trede will yet again add vitality and determination to the Diss cause.
