Lost 42 - 14
Diss yet again conceded tries at crucial moments thus giving HAC a dominant position throughout the game. Diss dominated over seventy percent possession whilst pounding the HAC line for long periods without reward. A side lacking confidence found managing their opportunities very difficult. Diss opened the scoring with a Chris Beaird try following an outstanding drive from John Bergin and a scything run from Warren Wilby. Beaird stepping up to convert. Every time HAC entered the Diss 22 they came away with maximum points securing a four try bonus point by half time.
A wonderful driving maul enabled Matt Richards to crash over towards the end of the first half keeping Diss well within reach.
Diss totally dominated the second half without securing any points. Time after time Diss forced the ball close without getting over the line. A lack of precision, game management and confidence coupled with a more consistent level of decision making should have resulted in at least one Diss score. HAC entered the Diss half twice, scoring on both occasions.
Although another disappointing loss many of the younger players yet again stepped up to the mark.
George Jones, George Easton, Will Tomson, Michael Jones and Callum Roberts all ably supporting the more seasoned players in the side. A positive Team spirit and a willingness to play an expansive game continue to highlight the future of this brave side.
