A disappointing result in a number of respects. Diss continued to score tries but were unable to hold the the attacking ability of Rochford and therefore only came away with bonus points in a fixture that they should have won. Diss opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a converted try from Jack Keppel.

Following concerted Rochford pressure Diss then conceded an unconverted try . To those present it soon became apparent that this was going to be another tight match which would ultimately be decided on simple errors or correct decision making. Following a break through the midfield Rochford were able to take a 10-7 lead leading up to the half time break. However, following further Diss pressure Warren Wilby scored an excellent try that enabled Diss to lead 14-10 at half time.

After only two minutes in the second half Rochford scored a further try following a charge down and then increased their lead further following an infringement at a ruck. On 65 minutes the dominant Diss scrum were eventually awarded a Penalty try , converted by Jack Keppel.

Diss now led 21-20 with fifteen minutes remaining in the game. Rochford then scored a further try increasing their lead to 25-21 , as the game entered it's final stages. Jamie Burroughs scampered over with two minutes remaining for what seemed to be the final score of the game. However in the last minute of the game Rochford scored to steal all the glory.

There were positives to take from the match but ultimately Diss need to be more ruthless in there approach to closing out tight matches.
