and laid siege to the Norwich line for the opening few minutes before a trade mark show and go from captain Seb Goodge opened up the defence allowing him to power under the posts and duly kick the conversion.
New signings Luke and Matt Bailey showed strong running ability while the ever youthful Horne brothers used their experience to good effect. Credit to Norwich as Diss continued to dominate territory but could not get over the line again in the first half through a combination of indifferent decision making and last ditch defence.
The second half started similarly to the first with a try this time from Giles West from long range with Goodge converting. Norwich had their moments in the match and often disrupted the Diss possession leading to periods of scrappy play but Wilbur Hemmant, Vic Garnham and new signing Martin Sands were usually nullifying any Norwich attack. A counter attack from West saw him chip over the defence only to be out paced to the ball by the supporting Goodge to score his second and again convert. With game opening up Matt Trede finally backed himself on a mazy run to score with Goodge again converting.
Team manager William Foote was reasonably happy with the result from a side that will keep improving over the next few weeks.
