After the previous weeks cricket score the Saracens had a sterner test up in North Norfolk against the ever welcoming hosts Holt whose extremely heavy forward pack gave their Diss counterparts a torrid afternoon at scrum time. However the extra mobility of Diss forwards along with the greater pace and skill in the backs meant they were in control for long periods of the match.
After good build up work from the ubiquitous Giles West the forwards ran good lines off fly half Seb Goodge with Martin Sands eventually crashing over for the first try, Goodge converting. John O’Burgin ran strongly all afternoon and Andrew Horne was making life difficult for any Holt forwards running with the ball. A sweeping backline move eventually came to Nas Gurgin who ran in the second try well converted again by Goodge.
The second half was similar with Diss struggling for scrum ball but eventually breaking out and Wilbur Hemmant linked with Sands, who had moved from prop to centre, to score his second. The Holt forwards eventually barrelled over for a consolation try with the last play of the game but the day belonged to the Blues.
