Several changes in personel has no effect on end result.

Will Edwards first game of the season saw him make a diagonal run towards the line, newcomer Tom Pritchard added momentum and drove him over for the first score. The Beccles forwards had a weight advantage and were making it difficult for Diss to win clean ball, however when they did they made inroads time and again, a clever change of direction from new scrum half Austin Holtley saw the ball come to Alan Goymour who ran a clever line to score, the conversion again missed.

The second half continued in the much the same vein, Beccles have been coached in a basic style of rugby but to their credit stuck to their game plan throughout. A strong run from the improving Ted Wishart and a clever inside pass saw the inevitable Martin Sands try, the missed conversion leaving it at 15-0. At this point the Diss team switched off for 20 minutes allowing Beccles to score 3 tries and with one successful conversion they briefly took the lead 15-17. Diss finally woke up again and scored another try by newcomer Fergus Hale the conversion was added by replacement Sam Ames, former fly half understudy to Seb Goodge in his first game back at the club after 5 years away.
