In extremely muddy conditions the Saracens won this top of the table clash by a resounding 5 tries to 1 to make up for the defeat away to Walsham earlier in the season. The forward pack laid the foundation by out muscling their counterparts for most of the afternoon. After a period of early pressure by Diss it was Walsham who struck first with a try from their forwards after spending time on the Diss line. However back came Diss with the front row of Hutchinson, Horne and Teare giving the team a solid platform all afternoon allowing the number 8 Luke Bailey to make consistent inroads. Although made to work hard by their counterparts the experienced Cayley and strong running Bergin made ground and eventually the ball came out to Raymond Knapp on the wing who crashed over. From another scrum the Diss backs showed great skill to get full back Alan Goymour into space to score another in the corner, converted by Seb Goodge for a 12-5 half time lead.
Diss continued to dominate the second half as Walsham struggled to deal with a series of high balls from Seb Goodge and the pressure applied at the base of their scrum by Diss 9 Joe Seaman. Junior Horne showed a surprising turn of pace to power through for the next try after more pressure and the backs again showed great skill to put the impressive Paul Coomber in for another. With time up Diss went quickly and Junior Horne used his weight to power over for a second to complete the victory.
