Games between the two teams in recent seasons have been close encounters played in good spirits and Saturdays match proved to be no different. Playing into a strong breeze Norwich made a bright start and established a lead that they kept for most of the match. A much changed Diss team with three debutants, two former players, and a number of positional changes, inevitably took time to gel and eventually replied with a well taken try for newcomer Lawrence Keyworth.
The second half saw more of the same with Norwich again establishing a lead before Diss starting to play better rugby with newcomer Joe Watts making good decisions and the strong running of Matt Gardener making ground every time. Tries were scored through the illusive Josh Monks and Steffan Coombes before an excellent individual try for Terry Miller finally gave Diss the lead along with 2 magnificent conversions from Seb Goodge.
