Emotions were running high for many of the Saracens squad with the return of inspirational former skipper Seb Goodge to the team and they started the match at a tremendous tempo orchestrated by scrum half Goodge and the deceptive Adam Williamson at Fly Half. The Diss forward pack dominated their opposite numbers and provided a conveyer belt of quality possession and the interplay at times with the backs and the stream of off loads were of a high quality in the conditions.
13 tries were scored at regular intervals by the Diss team with Williamson, youngsters Francis Chenery and Jacob Page each getting two each as well as Matt Cannon, Matt Trede scoring a two each as well and Raymond Knapp, Chris Trede and the returning James Hayhoe going over for tries too. Alvin Goymour unfortunately was having an off day with the conversions and missed the first 6 attempts before Goodge and Chenery stepped up to convert the next 7. The match was played in good spirits and the Bury team were deserving of their try by youngster Jerome Berry out wide and were unlucky not to score more in an entertaining encounter.
