Norwich 2nd XV 5 : 68 Diss Saracens

Harrison scored a hat-trick of tries and successfully converted nine of the ten tries scored, the latter an impressive feat given very windy conditions. Harrison was also celebrating his 19th birthday as he was applauded by his team mates and his father, who stepped in as waterboy.

Despite the big margin of victory Diss were made to work hard for their win as Norwich defended well throughout the game. Playing into a strong wind Diss' first approach was direct rugby and they looked to take the ball though their forwards. Determined running by Mitch Havers and Dale Falm, however was met by equally determined Norwich tackling. Diss scored first as centre Charles Precious punched his way through from short range. Norwich were next to score which prompted Diss to move up a gear and they were never to look back, their set piece becoming particularly dominant. Two more tries were scored in the first half through full back Alan Goymour and Harrison.

With the strong wind in their favour in the second half Diss cut loose although their play was not clinical and their error count was too high. Diss put more width on the ball which proved more profitable as six of their seven tries scrored in the second half were scored by their three quarters. Second half scorers were James Pickles (2), who had a strong game in the centre, Harrison (2), Goymour, Precious and Ken Rix, the latter a pushover try as the Diss scrum drove Norwich off their own ball.
