Saracens victorious in close fought battle at Broadland.

This week saw Diss Saracens travel to Broadland, who were sat at the top of the table. Both teams started well, with Diss having much of the possession with good runs from Ryan Carter and Matt Trede but the score line remained intact. Broadland gained possession with good play and were rewarded with two kicked penalties. From the restart Broadland were camped in their 22 and Matt Trede intercepted a pass to score and a penalty from Adam Goymour made the score 6-8. From good line out and scrums Diss got good possession and moved the ball across the pitch to Mike the knight (Mike Skeet), who slid in to score in the corner. Goymour’s conversion finished the half.

The second half then saw Diss play the best phases of the game with quick ball, the forwards and backs gaining good yards. From a quick ruck and change of direction matt Trede calved his way through the defence to score a great team try, with Goymour converting. Broadland then went back to basics and were rewarded a try from the driving maul. The last quarter was tense with both teams playing well but the Diss lead was maintained, with a good team performance and strong defence, with the score at the finish 22-16 to the Saracens. Next week Diss play the Medics at home.
