The Saracens travelled to Watton with just 14 men, owing to Tom Miller experiencing child birth difficulties, and various others being unavailable. However Watton were also one short. There was heavy snow fall as the teams warmed up, and by kick off the lines were invisible. Diss received the kick and attacked strict way, breaking through the home side defence for Jake Girdler to go over for his first of three tries, with Pete Chartier converting as Aiden Goymour wasn't playing. This set the precedent for the afternoon, and from each restart the Saracens played. Few phases before breaking through to cross the line. Further tries came from Chris Trede, Will Scott, Pete Chartier, Jacob Page, 2 for Matt Cullum, 2 for Karlton Gray, 2 for Andy Horne, Mike Jones, Ben Walker and 2 for Dan Hooper.
Andy Horne made an impact on his return from injury, and controlled the ball well at the base of the scrum, with one of his tries coming from the dominant Diss 8 driving a scrum in from 10 yards out. With the conditions far from ideal, there were many knock ons, and thus many scrums, which stand in hooker Freddie Cornish did a great job of winning the ball back at. The snow on the ground caught Dan Hooper out on one occasion, where he made a darting run through the middle to put himself over the line, but unfortunately he went over one too many lines and touched the ball down over the dead ball line, earning him the wooden spoon! Prop John Hutchinson also fancied himself as a fly half, and having made a break, the opposition 10 was chasing hard to tackle him, when he opted for a 70 yard cross field kick to put Chris Trede over the line in the corner for his try! Trede scored one conversion, and Chartier converted 9 to leave the score at the final whistle 105-0 to the Saracens, and both teams ready for a hot shower!
