Diss started the day top of the league and with everything to do if they wanted to keep their promotion hopes alive.

As it always is when you are at the top, Medics were determined to knock the Diss side off their perch having beaten several of the other promotion rivals in the season. They certainly did not disappoint as the first half was played at a frantic pace.
The Diss side seemed to lack a cohesion that they had shown in previous weeks, dropping balls in the mid-field and not having it all their own way in the tight leaving them for much of the first half on the back foot.

The young Medics side showed good continuity and excellent fitness moving the Diss side round the park and disrupting any ball the away side managed to have.

On the 10 minute mark Medic’s got their first try. Continued pressure in the away sides 22 led to an overlap on the right wing. Good hands and some slipped tackles allowed the winger to force his way over the line. The conversion was missed.

The Medic’s pressure didn’t stop as The Diss side struggled to get any good ball to play with. Another Turn over ball by the home team and several phases later, the number 7 broke through the Diss defensive line to score another unconverted try.

For the first time in the game Diss finally put some pressure on the Medics line. With the forwards battering away a well worked backs move allowed Pete Chartier to wriggle his way over for the opening Diss try. Adam Goymer converted.

Medics were spurred on by this and in the final 5 minutes applied more pressure in the Diss 22. With the half time whistle approaching some good hands saw the Medics winger break the line again and score a try in the corner. The conversion was missed leaving the half time score Medic 15 - Diss 7

With some stern words from Richard Horne in the break, the Diss side knew that they had to score first to keep themselves in the game. Jake Girdler was forced to leave the field from injury and new Kiwi, Ryan Shannon, took the field for the second half.
From the kick off the Diss side looked like they had a point to prove. Luke Baily, on for Andrew Horne, broke from the back of the scrum and took the away side deep into the away sides 22. After several rumbles by the forwards Will Hemmant showing his quick feet and immense power to drive himself over the white wash. Adam Goymer converted.

The Medics side never gave up and spent the next 10 minutes in the Diss 22. Phase after phase the Medic’s battered away at the Diss line but the defence held firm. With the overlap out wide a dubious forward pass decision was the only thing that stopped the Medics winger from scoring what would have been a decisive try.

This was the turning point of the game, the Diss side now relieved there try line and started pressure of their own. The Forwards were now carrying the ball with gusto at the defensive line making good yardage. Luke Bailey was causing trouble with breaks down the blind side and the backline probing for holes out in the wider.

With the fresh legs of Andy Horne the away pack started to dominate the scrum. After a Medics knock-on on their own five meter line, the Diss pack saw their chance. A strong drive and good control at the base, allowed Will Hemmant to dot the ball down. Adam Goymer converted and for the first time the away side were in the lead. 15-21.
Play was back and forth and when Diss were awarded a penalty in the home side 22 they opted for the points which Adam Goymer duly converted.

In the dying seconds a penalty was awarded to the away side. Will Scott tapped the ball and weaved his way over the try line to give Diss the bonus point. Adam Goymer converted this and the final whistle was blown. Norwich Medic 15 Diss Saracens 31
Diss will be glad for the win but know that they need to look at a few technical points with more tough games to come in the next few weeks.
