North Walsham 5 : 18 Diss 3rds - 19th September 2015

Diss travelled to North Norfolk rivals Walsham and came away with a hard fought victory. The game started at a frantic pace and for the first twenty minutes Diss spent most of the time defending in their own twenty two. Jack Owen and Andy McAllister especially putting in many tackles along with Mike Jones. The scrums were solid with props David Rackham and Andrew Langham putting a shift in and hooker Charlie Oakes helping an effective line out. Eventually Diss managed to work up the field and after good work by Ethan Page the ball went through the backs hands to set up Ben Holdsworth to score out wide. Diss continued to attack and Tom Miller and Ben Brooks went close to scoring on two occasions as did Langham Service. The half ended with Diss leading 5-0.

The second half continued as the first with Steve Macqueen making several attempts to break through and when Walsham attacked James Hayhoe and Benny Goodman kept the backs solid. Replacements were made as players tired and with twenty minutes to go Diss scored a penalty to lead 8-0. Walsham poured forward and scored a try out wide but missed the conversion to leave a nervous final ten minutes. Jordan Harris from the wingers position found space after good work by Nick Yager and Ethan Page to score to settle the nerves. Diss found more confidence and in the dying seconds Harris again found space after switching wings and scored again to give the result a convincing look. Diss final winners 18-5 .
