Diss travelled to local rivals Thetford on the back of a good start to the season and continued their run of good form. Thetford hadn't played yet this and it showed and they were obviously rusty whereas Diss had played twice already.
Diss began on the front foot and soon scored through the middle after good work by Andy McAllister followed by a good run by James Hayhoe. Diss should have scored straight after when captain Benny Goodman was in acres of space but dropped the ball but made amends by catching the next one that came his way and finished by beating his opposite man and stepping inside the full back to score under the posts. Two more tries followed in quick succession again captain Goodman setting up Jordan Harris out wide and scrum half Jay Sides scored. Bonus point secured midway through the first half. Thetford spent the rest of the half in the Diss half and almost scored apart from solid tackling by the Diss pack and were held up on two occasions going close.
The second half was mostly Diss as Charlie Oakes made continuous attacks and Nick Yager kept turning the ball over in Diss's favour. Mike Jones was solid in the second row and Ben Holdsworth made plenty of runs to keep Thetford on the back foot. Steve Macqueen found plenty of space to set up plenty of try scoring opportunities.
Diss ran in a total of 12 tries scored by : Steve Macqueen 3 , Ben Holdsworth 2, Jordan Harris 2 , Jay Sides 2 , Andy McAllister 1 , Benny Goodman 1 and Ben Brooks 1.
