Diss 3rds travelled to local rivals with a few changes in personnel, Steffen Coombs in for Jack Owen and Mark Dungar replacing Nick Yager in the 2nd row. The conditions were cold but this didn’t effect Diss in the slightest as in the opening minutes a Diss attack resulted in a score out wide for Ben Watts on the wing. Toby Boom made a break and after Pete Bray barrelled through some defence the ball was shipped out wide by Jay Sides for Watts to score. Diss were close to scoring again soon when Steve Macqueen broke through a tackle but was stopped. Crusaders after this had the majority of the play for the next twenty minutes and scored a try of their own after good forward pressure and managed to score close to the posts which also got converted. Diss then returned to score with a great team try , firstly set up by Toby Boom with a kick close to the try line, good forward work by Steffen Coombs and Jo Sides gave space for Macqueen to find Fergus Newman out wide to score after Jordan Harris was tackled close to the try line. Boom converted and at half time the score was 12-7 to Diss.

The second half Diss continued to dominate in attack and defence as every Crusaders attack was met with solid defence, Mike Jones was solid at number eight and the front row of Will Appleton and Charlie Oakes and Pete Bray with Gareth Watts and Mark Dungar in the second row ensuring scrums were solid all afternoon. Diss scored two more tries in the match with Jay Sides going over in the left corner after the pack won more lineout ball and Sides picked up and scored. With ten minutes left more pressure created by replacement backs Warwick Bowen and Naz Gurgin put Diss into a position to score close to the posts and it was Pete Bray who went over from close range to ensure the bonus point win was secured. All that was left for the Diss to do was to shut the game out and Fred Precious did just that as the back row enforcer ensured Crusaders never got back into the game. No league game next week the thirds get to play in a cup competition at home versus Holt thirds.
