Diss continued there league dominance with a win over local rivals Thetford. Buoyed by a return to form and fitness of captain Benny Goodman in recent weeks they continue to stay top of the league. Changes due to holidays and unavailable players Naz Gurgin moved to fly half and Jo Kindlydides moved to number 8 , Nick Yager head strapped again reminding us of the 1980s continued in the 2nd row. Diss got into the game straight away and even though the pitch was wet and muddy decided to let the ball go through hands and Fred Precious scored a close range try out wide after good work by Jack Owen. Thetford got into the game and the game was at stalemate until a fine try by captain Goodman who cut a line off the fly half to score under the posts, this was created by good line out play by Gareth Watts . Diss were on the front foot now and further tries were scored in the half with Goodman adding another followed by a try each by brothers jo and Jay kindlysifes .
Half time the bonus point was in the bag 29-0. With David Rackham being replaced after working over the opposition tight head by Baz Teare and other changes being made to give the squad plenty of game time Thetford got into the game with two good tries themselves after Diss gave away plenty of penalties and at one stage Goodman and Welsh coach Owen Atkinson thought they had overdone the half time changes but Jo Kindlysides got himself on the scoresheet again as Diss got back to basics and two more tries were scored by Steffen Coombs who broke through tackles at the back of the scrum to score and live wire Hooker Charlie Oakes scored ,who managed to have a quiet game vocally , soon after the referee blew for full time.
