Diss took the field with a raft of changes to personnel and many players taking the field for the first this season and this showed as Diss lost a close hard fought battle with rivals Holt. The game hinged on penalties by Diss too often in their own 22 plus a drop goal from the Holt fly half to seal the game. The first half included a try for each side plus a penalty for Holt and after much of the play in the Diss half. Diss were fortunate to only be 3 points down but good defensive play left the game on an knife edge going into the break. The Diss try scored by Gregor Shipperlee supported by Freddie Woodhouse Rowton. The game mainly was played in the Diss half and was sealed by one more penalty and a drop goal to Holt who managed to keep the pressure on the Diss line and waited for the mistakes to be made. Several players for Diss fronted up and a few had games to forget but the season moves on to the North Norfolk rivals Fakenham next week where Diss will hopefully have a more settled side.
