Diss made it three wins out of three against Watton for the season and kept themselves all but champions of Eastern Counties Three North with three games still to play. John Alexander on his return scored two tries in the first half as Diss had the bonus point in the bag by half time.

In a game that was stop start and heavily refereed neither side played with much fluency but Diss gained the upper hand early on when John Alexander barraging run ended with him swan diving over out wide to give Diss the early lead. Watton had their moments soon after with a intercepted pass that needed a tackle from Jack Owen but Diss remained mainly on the front foot. A James Hayhoe break through the middle and some smart pick up play from captain Benny Goodman got the ball into space for Steve Macqueen to tip toe through under the posts to give Diss a second try of the half. A penalty soon after gave Diss another opportunity for a line out close to the Watton line and Jacob Page broke through tackles to score again out wide. Watton continued to attack and to their credit went close but smart play by Willy Hemmant cleared the ball and several tackles by the back row of Will Foote and Jack Owen and the swollen eyed Chris Howard kept Watton on the back foot.

With the game now going into a scrappy affair Diss continued to win penalties and soon found themselves on the attack and scored the much needed bonus try when Todd Wishart scored from full back. Karlton Gray and Mike Jones the two Diss props enable Diss to begin to dominate the larger Watton pack and Ben Brooks out wide had several runs but the fifth try of the half was by John Alexander who crashed through to score his 11th try of the season.

The second half brought major substitutions as five replacements were made in the half to give the whole squad a run out, the thirds welcomed back David Rackham and Owen Atkinson had his usual twenty minutes of play. The only team to score in the second half was Watton to their credit who never gave up as the game turned into a scrum fest high penalty count with little scoring opportunities for either side and when the final whistle blew Diss had a 27-7 lead.
