The University Of East Anglia students came to Diss and came away with a deserved but hard fought win over the 3rd team of Diss. The game began at a massive tempo and for the first ten minutes Diss were on the front foot with various attacks through Will Foote and Ben Fidler putting pressure on the UEA. However a missed kick for touch gave the students the opportunity to run at the backs of Diss and scored a try close to the posts.

The speed of the game stayed at a high tempo and Diss carried on pouring forward and had opportunities to put points on the board but penalties were missed at crucial times. Powerful running by Charlie Oakes almost brought a try scoring opportunity and the running of Patrick Lawton and Ewan Lawton was always a threat. The UEA did manage to score another try in the half again as a mistake led to space being given to the students and they scored again after Diss missed various tackles. Diss finished the half pressing for a try and came away with a score by Owen Atkinson who after a ruck was formed broke away and scored with Seb Goodge converting.

The second half got off to the worst possible start as more space was provided to the students to run into and after a up and under went wrong and landed in the hands of a player out wide another try was scored. Not long after another try was scored also by the students who pace of the game was too quick for the Diss players. Diss threw caution to the wind and attacked heavily but injuries to two key players left Diss patching up the back line.

One note to mention was Halifax born Lee Lawton got on the same field as his two sons Ewan and Patrick and it was he himself who scored the next try as Diss poured forward for the next fifteen minutes battering the UEA try line and after various players went close Lee Lawton broke from the back of a maul to score close to the posts. Diss carried on pouring forward but to no prevail and as the final whistle blew Diss again for the third game running were beaten by only a ten point margin.
