Broadland Great Yarmouth 12 : 25 Diss 3rd - 14th February 2015

Diss travelled to Yarmouth with a much changed side from previous weeks but still came away with a good win against their coastal rivals. Broadland started the brighter side and with a big weight advantage in the scrum Diss struggled to keep Broadland in check. Diss managed to score first however when from the base of the scrum Naz Gurgin at scrum half made a sniping run and scored from close range. Broadland continued to dominate and should have scored out wide but for some last ditch tackling by Adam Williamson and Jordan Harris. Diss managed another try out wide by good work by George Gooderham laying number eight who made a run out wide and was supported by Ethan Page who went over to score. Broadland got back into the game by winning another of Disc’s line out which was poor all day and scored out wide which was converted. The play went backwards and forwards with Diss having most of the possession and the half finished 10-7 to Diss. Diss soon got into their stride in the second half and a good move made by Williamson and James Hayhoe after some good work by Jacob Page made space for Diss out wide and Ali Thomas scored in the corner. Broadland continued to attack and score another try out wide when Diss lost another lineout and got sucked into play which left the right wing free of space for Broadland to score. Diss replied with a penalty which was scored by Naz Gurgin which left the score 18-12 to Diss with ten minutes to go. The play was mainly in the Broadland half for the rest of the game and Diss managed to score another try through the New Zealander Ryan McCaw out wide and the try got converted by Naz Gurgin to add to his try and penalty in the game.
