Improving Norwich overcome for place in Norfolk Plate finals

Norwich have seen a welcome influx of new players and Diss were aware of the stiffer challenge this potentially presented. Diss started strongly taking the game to Norwich with some driving forward phases. Under pressure Norwich knocked on inside their own 22 and the resultant scrum saw the ball through the backs and into the hands of Joe Jermy. Joe made a strong run through a number of tackles before scoring. Bryce Cochrane converted 0-7
With good ball being secured by the forwards and releasing the backs, it wasn't long before the ball was sent wide to Drew Harris on the wing to score. 0-12
The forward pack were having a great game with Josh Hayhoe rampaging at every opportunity. Noah Mollenar, relatively new to the game, was having his best game to date and the platform provided by the Davies brothers gave stability at every set piece.
Again good ball was secured by the pack and into the hands of the backs. Joe Jermy made another strong run before kicking ahead and collecting his kick through to score. Bryce Cochrane converted for 0-19 advantage.
Just minutes later there was a carbon copy move by Diss but this time as Joe Jermy kicked through and was inches from collecting his kick again a Norwich defender held him back preventing his hat trick try. The ref gave a penalty try to take Diss to 0-26.
Diss had put a number of subs into the game and just before 1/2 time Marcus Sibanda popped the ball to the supporting fresh legs of Moffe Ben-Edigbe to crash over for a 0-31 lead at 1/2 time.
The second half proved to be a completely different game. Norwich were playing with much more confidence and this interrupted the flowing rugby that Diss were displaying in the first half. It required a tremendous defensive effort by all the team to keep Norwich out. The forwards returned to pick and drive as a means of moving slowly up the field and when it looked like the ball was about to go wide, Captain Fred Potter grabbed his chance and drove hard for the line scoring under the posts. Ben Waters stepped up to convert and the games was ended with Diss winning 0-38
A great performance from all.
