A gutsy performance to be proud of.

Our games against Ipswich are always fiercely contested and usually result in an Ipswich win but a very determined Diss side took to the field with the intention of playing to their best. Many of the opening encounters were in favour of Diss with our pack quickly in to compete in the ruck and edging the competition for the ball. The pick and drive moved the Diss pack nearer the Ipswich line before being held up and the resultant scrum produced quick ball which was fully exploited by Ben Waters who crossed for a converted try. 0-7
From the restart Diss were quickly back to the same form and pushed the play wide early on. Drew Harris took the ball on the wing and in full flight he is almost unstoppable, he scored an unconverted try after a strong run. 0-12
Ipswich started to gain more of the possession and whilst the Diss defence was excellent they couldn't stop Ipswich scoring and unconverted try 5-12
On 20 minutes Joe Jermy came on as sub and was quickly into the action picking up a pass from a ruck and setting off on a long run to score under the posts. The try was converted and Diss finished the half with a 5-19 lead.
Ipswich clearly wanted to make an impact in the second half and were first to score. 10-19
Diss were very impressive in the ruck and a fantastic tackle rate was maintained throughout the game. Jamie Wilks, Henry Robinson and Ben Faulkner were consistently stealing ball and along with a storming Fred Potter and Noah Molenar had total control of the loose and the breakdown.
As Ipswich fumbled a pass under Diss pressure Drew Harris seized the chance and kicked the ball through. A foot chase ensued with the very fast Drew winning the race and scoring a converted try 10-26.
The play wasn't all Diss but they were keeping up an impressive work rate and sent the ball wide again this time to Joe Jermy who was playing on the wing for the injured Dylan Smith. Joe ran for the corner then under the posts and very generously passed to the supporting Adam Balding to score. The conversion gave Diss a 10-33 scoreline.
The game wasn't dead and the big Ipswich forwards worked a move to allow them to crash over for their only converted try of the game 17-33
Tom Parks -Lewis was having a superb game at full back with a high tackle count. Diss had time for one more move and as the ball was passed wide again Tom came into the line to take the ball at incredible pace. As the chasing Ipswich defence neared he seemed to find another gear and left them standing to score under the posts. Bryce Cochrane stepped up to convert and the final whistle blew. `17-40
A very pleasing, gutsy and determined display by all the team
