Diss U13's Team Wyatt V Lowestoft & Yarmouth

With Diss Under 13's able to field two sides, both selected on positions, it didn't seem right to have firsts and seconds or A and B.There were a number of suggestions put forward and the clear favorite was to name the sides in honour of two of the clubs founder members, Ben Gaze and Chris Wyatt. Today Team Wyatt arrived at Lowestoft and Yarmouth RFC to be greeted by the surprise visit of Mr and Mrs Wyatt in person. The team, having been photographed with their namesakes, took to the pitch. During the initial phases the forwards were securing a lot of ball but there were a number of handling errors in the backs. These were quickly resolved and the backs started to cut loose with some style. L & Y are clearly a side which is developing quickly and they had a number of players who have taken to rugby recently but they all played with a tremendous attitude. A closely fought first half resulted in a 6 - 2 scoreline to Diss. In the second half Diss made full use of the width of the pitch and with improved handling were able to pass the L & Y tiring backs. Diss scored another unanswered 6 tries to make the final score 12 - 2. Among the Diss tries the supporters witnessed two tries for debutante Reece. After the game Mr and Mrs Wyatt chose Josh Hayhoe and Henry Robinson for awards.
