We had a good strong squad of Diss U9s, which was just as well, as Newmarket were only able to muster 4 players to join us for the match. They were extra large boys though, leading us to wonder what exactly is in the water over to the west!
We put together two mixed teams and had several evenly matched games, interspersed with some training drills, which benefited players from both sides.
It was a good humoured, fun fixture which was enjoyed by everyone present. The small numbers of players from Newmarket reminded us once again that we are fortunate indeed to have so many regular players, supported by lovely parents and coaches. Something we should never take for granted.
Next weekend we have a quiet training session, as it's Mothering Sunday and many will be busy with family commitments. Two of our coaches have completed their Level 2 RFU training today (well done, Thorpey & Simon) - so we look forward to seeing what new drills and games they've come up with for the team next week.
