After a couple of weeks of no rugby due to weathers etc, we were all looking forward to our first ever trip to Saffron Walden RFC.
At the beginning of the week we had a full squad of 22 but come Sunday morning we just managed 15.
This however did not put a spoiler on the day and as it turns out those who could not make it really missed out of one of our best performance yet .
As the team went out to warm up to shake of the long journey the squad were not phased by not having any subs, but relished the challenge of a full 80 min of rugby. the whole squad were looking forward to the challenge of our unknown opponents.
The conditions were fair but a very greasy pitch. From KO it was a battle for the forwards who started how they finished with domination of play with turnover after turnover which in turn let our backs doing what they do best with great ball handling and pace of attack , Walden tested our resolve all day but our solid defence held up well to their challenge.
Too single out any one player today would not do this squad justice, everyone of them who turned up today played their best game to date as a team and resulted in a great team win. And made their coaches very proud of how they all stepped up to the mark.
