In the last outing in the pool stages of the National Cup competition it’s between Diss Rfc Vixens & Crusaders the victors will top the table & progress unfortunately the end of the line for second place.
The girls on the back of a tough defeat by Sudbury have applied themselves in training & today this commitment shone through.
A fantastic team performance with the girls Led from the front by Ella stepping into the captains role for the injured Megan.

The game was largely won in the first 20 minutes with an aggressive Vixen pack pinning Crusaders in their own half applying pressure forcing penalties in the red zone allowing Sophie to crash over to open the score quickly followed by Ellie & Steph then Ruby with Ruby converting three. The Vixens playing to their game plan offloading off the floor when possible & using the back line to great effect stuns the opposition.
This is Crusaders tho & you can’t be complacent miss a tackle leave a gap & you will be punished & so it was to be with Katie given space shed off & can’t be caught to cross for Crusaders first try on the stroke of half time
under pressure the Vixens give away a penalty tackles not strong enough Evie’s through scoring to end the half. Vixens 26 Crusaders 10
2nd half & this can still go either way the Diss girls rally & tackling gets stronger Murran cutting any opposition down who dare to come near, Poppy flying out of the line along with Ella & Sophie putting in some hard hits forcing errors which are punished swiftly Ellie, Ruby then Amie popping up from nowhere in support of the hard charging Ellie taking the ball at pace to crash through a tackle & over the line this is swiftly followed with what for myself & the rest of the U18s coaches was the try of the day following a ruck ball secured by our rampaging forwards the ball passed through multiple players hands with Ruby looping for her life flicking the ball to Ella to accelerate under the posts absolutely electrifying
play. This play continues with Niamh, Ellie & Ruby adding to the score one of these tries enabled by Lorna securing ball at the ruck against two opponents & allowing Aime to flick the ball away to our back line. Despite a valiant effort from our opposition the Vixens were today unstoppable although not all have been mentioned in this report every player put in a huge effort in a fantastic team performance & should be extremely proud of the result that it’s given.
